About me

-As you can see from the picture above, I like to make stuff (that’s me making stuff when I was much, much younger). Now I write for girls that age.
-I’m a mural artist, illustrator, designer and painter (you can see my work on this site; check out the tabs above)
-I wrote, illustrated, and –with my husband and our company, Three Trees, Inc.–published my first children’s book “Petalwink Learns to Fly” which was picked up by Rising Star Education, the best in character education publishing. Rising Star is now publishing the whole series of seven Petalwink books.
-There are currently four books in print in Petalwink series, with the remaining three due out in the fall 0f 2010.
-I’m writing a series for teen readers called the Fifties Chix and posting it on a “flog” (ficitional blog) about 5 time traveling friends (sign up to read it!).
-I have so many ideas that sometimes it’s hard to focus! But I think stories with a positive message can be entertaining and that’s been my focus for the last seven years and the result of a happy childhood, a wonderful education and a blessed marriage.

Love it!
You know, I just found words for something major that I love, admire, and respect about you. You pay attention to things other people miss or choose to ignore– very important things that most people may not have the courage to face. You gently but bravely call those things out to the front, give them thoughtful, prayerful attention, and even if the things are horrible, they don’t seem so scary and hopeless by the end of the conversation. I just realized this must be one of the coolest things that you and Whit do together because he’s uber- good at this too. He may be doing it silently, but take one look at that guy and you can tell it’s totally going on all the time. He obviously doesn’t miss a thing.
Can’t even tell you how much I admire that in you. The world would be SUCH a better place if more people lived like you — that is to say, if more people PAID ATTENTION and dealt with what they saw with courage, wisdom, unselfishness, and love — which is usually a major part of the solution to any given problem…
LOVE YOU!!!!
Angela, I am loving your video series at ehow.com, and although I never heard of Petalwink until today I am dying to read your books. She is adorable, and although my idea is totally different from yours I’m going to take some inspiration from that adorableness (okay, not a word, but whatever). Just wanted to let you know that I could not access any videos beyond Designing the Cover. Are these still in the works (like you don’t have enough to do!) or was there a glitch in the system? Thanks so much for doing these videos. Happy New Year!
